Golf In Portugal

Just over the border are some easily accessible courses but don’t forget that Portugal is one hour behind Spanish time when booking your start times.

Castro Marim

Castro Marim

27 holes that can be mixed and matched to produce two different 18 hole courses. They are short hilly courses with stunning views of the hills and sea. It is it a course where accuracy is more important than length.

Benamor Course

Benamor

The course is short by modern standards at 6,300 yards, but the tight undulating fairways make this another course where accuracy is more important than length. It is like a normal "British members" course.

Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima

Quinta da Ria

A 36 hole parkland complex with some beautiful views and built alongside a national park. The courses have some lakes and streams that cross and run down the side of a number of holes.

Monte Rei

Monte Rei

Currently the North course is open. Jack Nicklaus designed it so you know what to expect. It has 5 lakes and is well blended into the existing landscape. It is expensive though.

Quinta do Vale

Quinta do Vale

The course is situated just over the border within a mile of Castro Marin. It was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, integrated into the landscape and with stunning views over the Guadiana River into spain. The course sits in a natural valley overlooked by the Clubhouse. It has a number of water features and doglegs.
